Juan Raul Mejia was born in Mexico City and immigrated to the United States with his family as a young child. In his childhood, he developed an unwavering passion for the arts while growing up in America in a traditional Mexican home. The vibrant colors and unique lines of his work reflect his Mexican heritage with a twist of American influence.


His work has been featured in Sacramento News & Review and Submerge Magazine as well as in regular showings at Second Saturday venues. His Día de Los Muertos artwork only surfaces once a year, bringing light to the beauty of life and death. 2010 marks his eighth Dia de Los Muertos show, which has now become a personal tradition within his art career.
